The way of the Elders is a monthly shamanic practice rooted in respect for Earth-based wisdom traditions. This space honours the old ways- the teachings of listening\, connection\, and rhythm. Walking the path with devotion to the old ways and grounded awareness. \nEach gathering begins with a guided teaching exploring themes of seasonal wisdom\, and grounded spiritual practice. \nOur first session is devoted to the way of the Shaman- a foundational teaching exploring the roots of the shamanic path. Before we work with rhythm of journeying\, we begin by understanding the role\, the responsibility\, and the reverence required to walk this way. DESCRIPTION:The Way of the Elders- Drumming of Guidance\, Connection & Healing \nThere is an ancient rhythm that lives within us\, a remembering carried through the seasons\, through the land\, and through the circle. The Way of the Elders is a monthly shamanic practice rooted in respect for Earth-based wisdom traditions. This space honours the old ways\, the teachings of listening\, connection\, and rhythm\, walking the path with devotion to the old ways and grounded awareness. \nEach gathering begins with a guided teaching exploring themes of seasonal wisdom and grounded spiritual practice. Our first session was devoted to The Way of the Shaman\, exploring the roots of the path and the reverence required to walk it. In our second circle\, we turned toward the drum\, building relationship with its spirit and learning how sacred tools support ceremony and healing. \nAnd now\, the circle turns once more. In this next gathering\, we enter the teachings of the Medicine Wheel\, exploring the directions\, the elements\, the cycles of life\, and the balance between above and below\, within and without.The Medicine Wheel reminds us that life moves in seasons. That we are not separate from the Earth. That everything moves in cycles of growth\, release\, renewal\, and return. Within this circle\, we will also share a gentle Cacao Ceremony\, opening the heart\, softening the body\, and deepening our connection to ourselves and one another. Cacao has long been used in sacred gatherings as a plant ally of the heart\,  inviting presence\, gratitude\, and connection. Together\, we will honour the directions\, open the heart\, and then move into the drum\, allowing rhythm and intention to weave through the wheel. \nIn the second half of each evening\, we gather in circle for drumming- allowing the medicine of rhythm to guide us inward\, restore balance\, and reconnect us to ourselves\, one another\, and the wider web of life. \nThis is a space for: \n🪶Learning and reflection \n🪶Connection and community \n🪶Gentle healing and restoration \n🪶Honouring the seasons and the turning of the wheel \nNo experience is necessary. A remembering carried through the seasons\, through the land\, and through the circle. The Way of the Elders is a monthly shamanic practice rooted in respect for Earth-based wisdom traditions. This space honours the old ways- the teachings of listening\, connection\, and rhythm. Walking the path with devotion to the old ways and grounded awareness. \nEach gathering begins with a guided teaching exploring themes of seasonal wisdom and grounded spiritual practice. \nOur first session was devoted to The Way of the Shaman\, exploring the roots of the path and the reverence required to walk it. In our second circle\, we turned toward the drum\, building relationship with its spirit and learning how sacred tools support ceremony and healing. In our third gathering\, we stepped into the teachings of the Medicine Wheel\, honouring the directions\, the seasons\, and the turning cycles of life. In our fourth\, we explored the lower\, middle\, and upper worlds- understanding how to navigate the layers of consciousness with clarity and grounding. \nAnd now\, the circle turns once more. \nIn this next gathering\, we explore the healing of the fragmented self- a gentle introduction to the teaching often known as soul retrieval. In many shamanic traditions\, it is understood that during times of stress\, trauma\, grief\, or overwhelm\, parts of our energy can withdraw. We may feel scattered. Disconnected. Less present then we once were. \nWe will explore: \n🥁 What fragmentation means- psychologically and spiritually. \n🥁 How life experiences can cause parts of ourselves to retreat. \n🥁 The difference between losing power and forgetting connection. \n🥁 How rhythm can help us call ourselves back into wholeness. \nThrough teaching and grounded drumming\, we will work gently with the intention of reclaiming scattered energy- inviting our presence\, vitality\, and steadiness to return. This is not about becoming something new. This is about remembering who you are. \nIn the second half of the evening\, we gather in circle for drumming- using rhythm as a bridge to call our energy home. They have been used to gently clear energy\, offer blessings\, carry prayers\, and create sacred space with reverence and respect. \nTogether we will explore: \n🪶 The symbolism and sacred significance of the feather within a range of earth based traditions. \n🪶 How feathers have traditionally been used as ceremonial tools for cleansing\, blessing\, and directing energy. \n🪶 The importance of intention\, presence\, and respect when working with sacred tools. \n🪶 How the feather can become a gentle extension of healing through mindful practice. \nIn the second half of the evening and\, we will gather in circle for a guided feather healing ceremony. Working with intention\, rhythm\, and respectful practice\, we will explore a gentle energy clearing technique inspired by traditional feather healing practices.
